Dijon, France | Carved into a corner of Dijon's oldest church is a small, weathered stone owl, standing at less than a foot tall. This unassuming figure, known as the Owl of Notre Dame de Dijon, has held a significant role for over three centuries, granting wishes to those who touch its face with their left hand. Despite its modest appearance and the wear of time, the owl symbolizes Dijon and serves as an informal talisman, positioned on an inconspicuous corner of the church. Of course, I would not have missed the chance to have that touch of magic on this stone owl and asked for that much-needed luck I badly needed for the coming months.
